Restoration of a studded hinge on an ideal Louis Vuitton trunk
Previous restoration
The previous owner has already restored this trunk with a hinge metal attached to the inner edges of the trunk
Disassembly
You have to remove the parts added metal and remove the original damaged hinge. We also dismantled the interior compartments, the original rivets and the broken leathers.
The leather
A piece of leather is then cut, glued and fixed on the site original.
Marking
Using a claw to strike we mark the piece of leather on the location of the different small nails that will hold the hinge.
Nailing
We then fixed the leather with a hundred nails fixed on both edges. Larger nails are definitely solidify the new hinge leather.
